III. COOPERATION IN THE ECONOMIC FIELD Article 3.1 Development of Economic Cooperation In support of Uzbekistan’s transition to a market-based economy and its integration in the world economic system, the Sides plan to give priority to the economic aspect of bilateral cooperation. This relationship should focus on Uzbekistan's commitment to implement macroeconomic, financial, and structural reforms, including efforts to improve the economic prospects of the most vulnerable segments of the population. Economic reforms should be aimed at liberalizing the economy, achieving currency convertibility, increasing competitiveness, and developing the private sector.
